This Privacy Policy describes how saltypeople.co (the “Site” or “we”) collects, uses, and discloses your Personal Information when you visit or make a purchase from the Site.

  • Source of collection: Collected automatically when you access our Site using cookies, log files, web beacons, tags, or pixels Google Analytics, Meta Pixel (Facebook Pixel), TikTok Pixel.
  • Disclosure for a business purpose: We share your personal information with our processor, Shopify, to power our online store. We may also share information with other service providers that help us deliver our services, such as payment processors (e.g., PayPal, iyzico), analytics providers (e.g., Google Analytics, Meta), marketing and advertising partners (e.g., Meta, TikTok), and logistics/shipping companies (e.g., DHL, UPS, Yurtiçi Kargo).

Order information

  • Examples of Personal Information Collected: name, billing address, shipping address, payment information (including credit card numbers, debit cards, and payments processed through iyzico), email address, and phone number.
  • Purpose of collection: to provide products or services to you to fulfill our contract, to process your payment information, arrange for shipping, and provide you with invoices and/or order confirmations, communicate with you, screen our orders for potential risk or fraud, and when in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.
  • Source of collection: collected from you.
  • Disclosure for a Business Purpose: We share your personal information with our processor, Shopify, to operate our online store. We may also share information with other service providers necessary to fulfill our business operations, including:

    • Payment gateway: iyzico (to securely process your payments)

    • Shipping and fulfillment partners: Yurtiçi Kargo, DHL, UPS (to deliver your orders)

    • Sales channels and marketing platforms: Meta (Facebook & Instagram), TikTok, Google Analytics, Klaviyo (for advertising, analytics, and email marketing)

Customer Support Information

  • Examples of Personal Information Collected: name, email address, phone number, order details, and any other information you provide when contacting us.

  • Purpose of Collection: to provide customer support and respond to your inquiries.

  • Source of Collection: collected directly from you when you contact us (via email, Instagram DM, or Shopify Inbox).

  • Disclosure for a Business Purpose: We may share this information with the vendors we use to provide customer support, including our email service provider (Gmail), Instagram/Meta (for direct messages), and Shopify Inbox.

Additional Information Collected (if applicable): In addition to the information listed above, we may collect information provided offline (e.g., at events, pop-up shops, or retail locations). We do not purchase or use third-party marketing lists.

Age Restriction: Our Site is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with Personal Information, please contact us to request deletion.

Minors

Sharing Personal Information

We share your Personal Information with service providers to help us provide our services and fulfill our contracts with you, as described above. For example:

  • We use iyzico as our payment gateway to securely process your transactions.

  • We share information with our shipping and logistics partners (Yurtiçi Kargo, DHL, UPS) to fulfill and deliver your orders.

  • We use service providers for marketing and analytics, including Meta (Facebook & Instagram), TikTok, Google Analytics, and Klaviyo.

  • We may share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant, or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

Remarketing and Targeted Advertising
As part of our marketing activities, we may use your Personal Information for remarketing or targeted advertising through platforms such as Meta (Facebook & Instagram), TikTok, and Google Ads. This allows us to show you relevant products and offers.

  • We share information about your use of the Site, your purchases, and your interaction with our ads on other websites with our advertising partners. This includes Meta (Facebook & Instagram Ads), TikTok Ads, and Google Ads. We collect and share some of this information directly with our advertising partners, and in some cases through the use of cookies or other similar technologies (which you may consent to, depending on your location).

Using Personal Information

We use your Personal Information to provide our services to you, which includes: offering products for sale, processing payments, shipping and fulfillment of your orders, and keeping you informed about new products, services, and special offers.

For Customers in Turkey (KVKK Notice)
For customers located in Turkey, your personal data is processed in accordance with the Law on the Protection of Personal Data (Law No. 6698 – “KVKK”). This means we only process your information for specified, explicit, and legitimate purposes, such as fulfilling your orders, providing customer support, complying with our legal obligations, and, where applicable, based on your consent for marketing communications.

For European Customers (GDPR Notice)
If you are located in Europe or are a European customer, we process your personal information in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This means:

  • We process your information based on legal grounds such as fulfilling our contract with you (e.g., processing your payment and shipping your order), compliance with legal obligations, or your consent (e.g., for marketing communications).

  • Your information may be transferred outside of Europe, including to Turkey, Canada, and the United States, where our service providers (such as Shopify, Meta, TikTok, Google, and iyzico) are located. When we transfer your data, we ensure it is protected in line with GDPR requirements.

  • You have the right to access, correct, or erase your personal information, as well as the right to restrict or object to its processing. You may also request data portability.

Lawful basis

Pursuant to the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), if you are a resident of the European Economic Area (“EEA”), we process your personal information under the following lawful bases:

  • Your consent – for example, when you opt in to receive our marketing communications (email, SMS, or social media).

  • The performance of the contract between you and the Site – to fulfill your orders, process payments, and deliver products to you.

  • Compliance with our legal obligations – such as tax reporting, consumer protection laws, and accounting requirements.

  • For our legitimate interests, which do not override your fundamental rights and freedoms – such as improving our services, preventing fraud, and running marketing/advertising activities that are relevant to you.

(“To protect your vital interests” and “To perform a task carried out in the public interest” are not applicable to our business, and therefore are not included.)

For Customers in Turkey (KVKK – Turkish Law No. 6698)
For our customers in Turkey, we process your personal data in accordance with the Law on the Protection of Personal Data (Law No. 6698 – “KVKK”). This means:

  • Explicit consent – for example, when you agree to receive marketing communications.

  • Performance of a contract – to fulfill and deliver your orders, and to provide after-sales services.

  • Legal obligations – such as obligations under tax, customs, and consumer protection legislation.

  • Legitimate interests – such as fraud prevention, internal reporting, and improving our business operations, provided that such processing does not harm your fundamental rights and freedoms.

Retention

When you place an order through the Site, we will retain your Personal Information for our records unless and until you ask us to erase this information. For more information on your right of erasure, please see the ‘Your rights’ section below.

Automatic decision-making

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (“EEA”), you have the right to object to processing based solely on automated decision-making (including profiling), where that decision-making has a legal effect on you or otherwise significantly affects you.

  • We do not engage in fully automated decision-making that has a legal or otherwise significant effect using customer data.

  • Our processor, Shopify, uses limited automated decision-making to prevent fraud that does not have a legal or otherwise significant effect on you.

Examples of automated decision-making by Shopify include:

  • Temporary denylist of IP addresses associated with repeated failed transactions (persists for a small number of hours).

  • Temporary denylist of credit cards associated with denylisted IP addresses (persists for a small number of days).

For Customers in Turkey (KVKK Notice):
In line with the Law on the Protection of Personal Data (Law No. 6698 – “KVKK”), decisions that significantly affect individuals are not taken solely by automated systems without providing the opportunity to exercise legal rights.

For Customers in the European Union (GDPR Notice):
As required by the GDPR, customers in the EEA may object to any processing based solely on automated decision-making, where such processing has significant or legal effects.

For Customers in the United States (CCPA/CPRA Notice):
We do not sell personal information and do not engage in fully automated decision-making that has legal or otherwise significant effects under the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”) or the California Privacy Rights Act (“CPRA”).

Selling Personal Information

  • United States (CCPA/CPRA Notice):
    Our Site does not sell Personal Information, as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (“CCPA”) or the California Privacy Rights Act (“CPRA”). We do not sell the personal information of minors under the age of 16.

We may share personal information with our service providers (such as Shopify, iyzico, Yurtiçi Kargo, DHL, UPS, Meta, TikTok, Google, and Klaviyo) solely for business purposes, as described in this Privacy Policy. Such sharing is not considered a “sale” of personal information under the CCPA.

  • European Union (GDPR Notice):
    Under the GDPR, we do not sell personal data. Any transfer or processing of your data is based on lawful grounds such as consent, performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations, or legitimate interests.

  • Turkey (KVKK Notice):
    In accordance with the Law on the Protection of Personal Data (Law No. 6698 – “KVKK”), we do not sell personal data to third parties. Personal data may only be shared with service providers for clearly defined business purposes and in compliance with KVKK.

  • To learn the purpose of processing and whether your data is used in line with that purpose.

  • To know the third parties to whom personal data is transferred domestically or abroad.

  • To request correction of incomplete or inaccurate data.

  • To request deletion or destruction of personal data within the framework of the conditions set forth in KVKK.

  • To object to the occurrence of a result against you by analyzing the processed data exclusively through automated systems.

  • To request compensation for damages arising from unlawful processing of your personal data.

For Customers in the European Economic Area (GDPR Notice):
If you are located in the EEA, you have the following rights under the GDPR:

  • The right of access to the personal data we hold about you.

  • The right to rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data.

For Customers in the United States (CCPA/CPRA Notice):
If you are a resident of California, you have the following rights under the CCPA/CPRA:

  • The right to know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, or sell.

  • The right to request access to your personal information.

  • The right to request deletion of your personal information.

  • The right to opt-out of the sale or sharing of personal information (note: we do not sell personal information).

  • The right to non-discrimination for exercising your CCPA rights.

  • The right to correct inaccurate personal information.

  • The right to limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information.

1. European Union / EEA (GDPR)

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.

  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.

  • Request deletion of your personal data (“Right to be Forgotten”).

  • Request portability of your data to another service.

Data Processing:
Your personal information will be initially processed in Ireland (through Shopify’s infrastructure) and may then be transferred outside of Europe, including to Canada and the United States, for storage and further processing.

2. Turkey (KVKK – Law on the Protection of Personal Data No. 6698)

If you are located in Turkey, you are entitled under Article 11 of the KVKK to:

  • Learn whether your personal data is being processed.

  • Request information regarding processing.

  • Learn the purpose of processing and whether it is used accordingly.

  • Request correction of incomplete or inaccurate data.

  • Request deletion or destruction of your personal data if the conditions are met.

  • Learn whether your data is transferred abroad.

Data Transfers:
Your data may be transferred abroad (to the EU, Canada, and the United States) in compliance with KVKK Article 9.

3. United States (CCPA – California Consumer Privacy Act)

California residents have the right to:

  • Request disclosure of what personal data we collect and how it is used.

  • Request deletion of their personal information.

  • Opt out of the “sale” of their personal information (“Do Not Sell My Personal Information”).
